Job description for Mid/ Senior QA Tester at Krenovator Sdn Bhd
We are seeking an experienced Mid/ Senior QA Tester (4-6 years of working experience) to define and manage the overall User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy and execution for our IT projects. This role requires a seasoned professional who will develop comprehensive test plans, coordinate testing activities, manage defect tracking, and ensure effective communication between business stakeholders and testing resources throughout UAT cycles.
Work Arrangement (Important)
- First month: Onsite in Malaysia (mandatory for onboarding, training, and project alignment)
- After onboarding: Remote working arrangement
- However, the candidate must be open to travel to Malaysia approximately once a month for key meetings, workshops, UAT sessions, or stakeholder alignment activities as required by the project.
Key Responsibilities
UAT Strategy & Planning
- Define and manage the overall User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy aligned with project objectives and business requirements.
- Develop comprehensive UAT test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on functional specifications and user stories.
- Establish testing standards, methodologies, and best practices across projects.
- Define UAT entry and exit criteria to ensure quality gates are met.
Test Execution & Coordination
- Lead and coordinate UAT testing activities across multiple workstreams and business units.
- Manage and supervise 2 Testers, assigning tasks, reviewing test cases, and monitoring progress.
- Organize and facilitate UAT sessions with business stakeholders and end-users.
- Manage test execution schedules, resource allocation, and testing environments.
- Oversee test data preparation and management to support realistic testing scenarios.
Defect Management & Tracking
- Establish and maintain defect tracking processes and prioritization frameworks.
- Monitor defect lifecycle from identification through resolution and verification.
- Conduct defect triage sessions with development teams and business stakeholders.
- Generate defect metrics and trend analysis to identify quality issues early.
- Ensure timely resolution of critical and high-priority defects before go-live.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders, project managers, and testing resources.
- Facilitate effective communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Conduct regular UAT status meetings and provide transparent progress updates.
- Manage stakeholder expectations regarding testing timelines, risks, and issues.
- Prepare and present UAT reports, dashboards, and metrics to senior management.
Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Lead and coach 2 Testers to ensure efficient test execution and continuous skills improvement.
- Conduct performance feedback and support development plans for team members.
- Allocate testing resources effectively based on project priorities and complexity.
- Conduct training sessions for business users on UAT processes and tools.
- Foster a collaborative testing culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in manual testing across web and/or enterprise applications; exposure to test automation tools or frameworks is a plus point.
- Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps), with experience building reports or dashboards for test progress and defect metrics, and a basic understanding of SQL and database concepts for data validation during testing.
