Job description for Legal Internship at VisionTech Pte. Ltd.
The Associate Legal Officer is primarily responsible for providing support on legal related matters to the organization (technology solutions provider), through review of policies and contractual documents, conduct of preliminary legal research, collation of legal related information, in support of the routine operations and strategic planning. Detailed activities include:
· Conduct legal, business and investigative research in both local and regional (for entry into foreign markets) contexts with regards to laws, regulations and licensing requirements. Thus, aiding in decision making and undertaking necessary preparation and collation of legal researches and material for internal and external reference and direct relevant stakeholders to references as needed.
· Draft, review and make amendments to contracts, legal documents, marketing and sales materials including non-disclosure agreements and technology contracts with public and private sector customers, including licensing agreements, professional services agreements to ensure compliance with regulations and policies and coordinating with Finance department in the processing of bills related to legal transactions and fees.
· Maintain databases and legal document templates for ease of reference and manage and facilitate legal transactions through filing of applications, managing contracts and preparing documents. Update case files and legal records in information systems and prepare necessary documentation as part of litigation or internal investigations. Ensure various stakeholders are kept in the loop by preparing necessary notices and reports.
· Analyze various scenarios and outcomes and keep abreast of current and changing laws to provide advice to various stakeholders on various areas including employment law, intellectual property law, conflict of law, and company law. To drafting internal legal memos regarding upcoming regulatory landscape to ensure alignment.
· Support execution of legal administrative tasks including taking notes and minutes of legal meetings and following-up and tracking of action and execution plans and legal timelines, assisting in correspondences between the organization and various stakeholders and updating guidelines and processes for legal transactions for the organization.
· Assist in managing corporate secretarial affairs of the organization include incorporating and restructuring business initiatives
Experience and Education: minimum 1 years working experience with similar stints as an associate legal executive, in similar industry. Undergraduate law students in the 3rd or 4th year are welcome to apply.
Personality: sense of ownership, responsibility, logical thinking, and effective planning, being proactive, details-oriented, and as a team player, also being firm and persuasive, and being honest. Good telephone and email writing skills, as well as good interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, including public speaking.
Language: Proficient in English (oral and written)
Travelling: Occasionally for up to maximum 3 to 5 days in the Southeast Asian countries region.
IT Literacy: Microsoft office suite, Google functionalities, and online team collaboration tools.
