Role Description The History Specialist is a part-time, hybrid role based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with flexibility for some work from home. The specialist will research and analyze historical materials, with an emphasis on Indonesian History, to support communication strategies, training content, and client projects. Day-to-day tasks include developing educational resources, preparing historical briefings, and contributing background materials for public relations and government relations initiatives. The role involves collaborating with internal teams to ensure historical accuracy in content, supporting workshops or training sessions, and presenting findings in clear, accessible formats. The History Specialist will document sources, maintain organized archives, and adapt historical insights to contemporary communication needs.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal expression and the ability to present complex historical information to diverse audiences.
- Background in Education and Training, with experience developing learning materials or delivering instructional sessions.
- Solid foundation in Indonesian History, with the ability to connect historical contexts to modern public relations and government relations work.
- Proficient research skills, including source evaluation, fact-checking, and organizing historical data into structured reports.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in History, Education, International Relations, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage time independently, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with public relations, media, or government affairs environments is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and ethical handling of historical sources and interpretations.
