Job description for Head Baker at 7AM Bakers

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Head Chef at 7AM Bakers Bali located in Bali, Indonesia. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, creating and designing menus, supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory and food costs, and ensuring food quality and presentation standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient food preparation.
  • Develop and update menus based on seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and business objectives.
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency meet company standards.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and efficiency.
  • Manage food inventory, monitor stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards in compliance with health regulations.
  • Control kitchen costs, including food waste management, portion control, and cost-effective ingredient sourcing.
  • Monitor and manage kitchen equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality.
  • Work closely with management to create new dishes, promotions, and special event menus.
  • Handle staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
  • Address and resolve any kitchen-related issues, including staff performance and customer complaints.
  • Ensure kitchen operations run smoothly during busy service periods.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience in international or specialized cuisines.
  • Knowledge of food costing and pricing strategies.
  • Ability to create and innovate new menu items.
  • Familiarity with kitchen technology and restaurant management software.
