Guidance Counselor (Elementary School)

ABOUT THE ROLE
SD Harapan Mulia is looking for a dedicated and experienced Guidance Counselor to support the social-emotional, academic, and character development of our elementary school students. In this role, you will plan and deliver comprehensive counseling services — from individual and group sessions to classroom guidance — while building a safe, trusting, and child-friendly environment where students feel comfortable seeking support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct student needs assessments and develop annual/semester BK program plans
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions addressing social, emotional, and academic concerns
- Facilitate classroom guidance sessions and character development programs (e.g. anti-bullying, empathy, discipline)
- Provide early intervention for behavioral issues, bullying, and learning difficulties
- Monitor student progress and prepare development reports with actionable recommendations for teachers and parents
- Maintain open two-way communication with parents and offer practical home-support guidance
- Coordinate referrals to psychologists or other professionals when needed
- Collaborate with homeroom teachers, subject teachers, and school staff on student cases
- Maintain accurate, confidential counseling records in line with professional ethics and school policy
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree (S1) in Guidance & Counseling or a related field
- Proven experience delivering BK services at the elementary school level
- Strong understanding of elementary-age child development (social, emotional, academic)
- Skilled in individual counseling, group counseling, and classroom guidance
- Excellent communication skills with both teachers and parents
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Committed to professional ethics and the confidentiality of student data
