Job description for Finance Intern at JTA Consultancy

Finance Intern | Winter Intake | Financial Literacy, Mentorship & Professional Development (Limited Intake)

Financial Literacy | Industry Exposure | Structured Learning

Looking to make your winter break more meaningful? Our Winter Finance Internship offers students and young adults the opportunity to gain practical exposure within the financial services industry while developing valuable professional and workplace skills.

Designed for individuals who are eager to grow beyond the classroom, this programme combines structured mentorship, guided learning, and hands-on projects to provide meaningful insight into the industry's day-to-day operations. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, strengthen your understanding of financial concepts, and build transferable skills that will support your future academic and career journey.

We're seeking individuals who are proactive, resilient, and willing to challenge themselves in a supportive environment. If you're motivated to learn, take initiative, and continuously improve, this internship provides an excellent foundation for future opportunities across finance, business, consulting, and other professional fields.

Role Focus

This internship is centred around developing practical knowledge in two key areas:

Financial Literacy — Build a stronger understanding of essential financial concepts, informed decision-making, and the principles that contribute to long-term financial well-being.

Industry Exposure — Experience how financial services operate through structured training, mentorship, practical assignments, and exposure to professional business processes.

Throughout the programme, you'll apply your learning through guided projects while receiving continuous support and mentorship from experienced professionals.

What You'll Do

  • Support operational and administrative activities, including documentation, coordination, preparation, and follow-up tasks.
  • Participate in structured learning sessions covering financial concepts, market developments, and industry insights.
  • Assist with research, presentation preparation, information gathering, and project coordination under the guidance of mentors.
  • Observe how professional workflows progress from planning and analysis through execution, implementation, and review.
  • Receive regular mentorship, constructive feedback, and developmental guidance to strengthen both technical knowledge and professional capabilities.
  • Contribute to team initiatives while developing confidence in communicating ideas and working within a collaborative environment.

What You'll Gain

  • Practical exposure to the financial services industry through real workplace experiences.
  • A stronger foundation in financial literacy and a broader understanding of industry practices.
  • Enhanced communication, organisational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Greater confidence working in professional and team-based environments.
  • Personalised mentorship and continuous developmental feedback from experienced professionals.
  • Valuable résumé-building experience relevant to finance, business, consulting, and related industries.
  • A competitive head start for future internships, graduate opportunities, and long-term career development.

Who We Want

We're looking for individuals who are eager to learn, embrace challenges, and take ownership of their personal and professional growth. While prior finance experience isn't required, we value individuals who demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and a positive attitude towards learning.

Ideal candidates are:

  • Dependable, responsible, and committed to delivering quality work.
  • Curious, analytical, and willing to think critically when approaching new challenges.
  • Open to feedback, highly coachable, and motivated to continuously improve.
  • Interested in financial literacy, financial markets, and the financial services industry.
  • Able to communicate clearly and present themselves professionally.
  • Comfortable collaborating within a supportive team while contributing positively to shared goals.
  • Proactive in seeking learning opportunities and willing to step outside their comfort zone to grow.

We welcome individuals with the right mindset, strong learning agility, resilience, and a genuine desire to develop both personally and professionally.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Due to limited openings, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
