Job description for Fashion Designer at Utara Studio
Utara Studio is an expanding local fashion brand based in Bali, and we're looking for a Fashion Designer to join our creative and product development team.
This role will focus on translating creative ideas into well-developed products — from design development and technical drawings to sampling and production coordination.
Responsibilities:
* Develop fashion designs based on Utara Studio's collection direction and brand identity
* Create technical drawings, tech packs, and product specifications
* Research trends, silhouettes, materials, colors, and design references
* Assist in developing seasonal collections and new product ideas
* Coordinate sampling and product development with trading and production partners
* Follow up on sample progress, revisions, and development timelines
* Conduct sample fittings and provide clear revision notes
* Assist with fabric, trim, color, and material selection
* Maintain organized design files, tech packs, and product development records
* Work closely with the internal creative and production team to ensure designs are executed according to the intended concept
Requirements:
* Background in Fashion Design or a related field
* Able to communicate in English
* Strong understanding of garment construction and basic production processes
* Able to create technical drawings and tech packs
* Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
* Good eye for fashion, proportion, silhouette, and details
* Organized and comfortable coordinating multiple product developments
* Able to communicate clearly with suppliers and production partners
* Open to feedback and willing to learn
* Responsible, proactive, and detail-oriented
* Fresh graduates with a strong portfolio are welcome to apply
