Job description for Data Scientist Intern at PenguinSmart

PenguinSmart is looking for a Data Scientist Intern to help contribute to the development of our AI-assisted online rehab therapy services enabling more effective speech & language improvement for children.
Job Scope
- Process and analyze child sound data
- Tune machine learning model
- Improve data analysis pipeline
- Collaborate with PenguinSmart internal teams
Details:
- Time Commitment: 24 - 40 hours per week
- Location: Taipei. The candidate will be working closely with teammates distributed across the US, Taiwan, and mainland China
Qualifications:
- A strong interest in health or education
- A strong interest in sound analysis Graduate student or equivalent experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics Analysis
- 1-2 years of relevant professional experience Fluent in Python/R or any other handy programming language for data analysis
- Can read/write/speak Mandarin Chinese & English

own, courage to be stretched professionally, fast learner and good listener
Good to Have
- Previous personal or professional experience in mainland China
- Practical experience designing a data collection campaign
