Job description for Business Development Lead at Seek Sophie
Seek Sophie (www.seeksophie.com) is an online platform that connects travellers to inspirational, off-the-beaten-track experiences in Asia (e.g. diving with sharks, hiking into pre-historic rainforests etc).
We currently offer 260 experiences with over 600 local guides in 4 countries - Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. We have been featured in tech publications such as Tech in Asia, Yahoo!, E27 and Vulcan post, and travel publications such as Destinasian and Silkwinds.
For this temporary assignment (3-6 months) we are looking for two (2) self starting explorers that will travel around Asia trialing experiences (trekking, surfing, diving and much more!), meeting and signing up guides to our platform and establishing partnerships with tourism boards. We will also ask our explorers to bring back lots of social media content (videos, photos, stories)!
Key learning outcomes:
- Relationship building and screening of suppliers (guides, instructors, etc.)
- Partnership establishment with tourism boards
- Social media content building
- How to build a start-up from scratch - how to bootstrap, be scrappy and testing new ideas and strategies

Eligibility requirements:
- Ability to travel full time 2-4 months
- Some sales/business development experience. This doesn’t have to be in a formal job setting. Did you raise a bunch of money in a fundraiser for your university? Convince your foodie friends to climb a mountain? If you can sell us on your sales experience, we might just buy it!
