Job description for Business Development Intern at GetSolar
Care about climate change and want to contribute to solve it? Aspire to shape and contribute to a fast-growing technology start-up as an early employee? This could be your opportunity.
At Solar AI, we want to use technology to simplify the solar experience for everyone.
Our solution: building intelligence for rooftop solar projects. By combining geospatial analysis of satellite imagery with big data and artificial intelligence, Solar AI empowers solar sales teams to discover qualified leads and prioritize their sales efforts for rooftop solar.
Solar AI is a seed stage start-up funded by and incubated as part of ENGIE Factory, the dedicated venture arm for ENGIE Group in Asia-Pacific with a mission to accelerate the transition to zero-carbon. Our founding team came from backgrounds of working with technology companies and Series A to D stage start-ups across the world.
The opportunity
In the Business Development role, you’ll gain valuable experience and have the opportunity to shape the growth trajectory of our business as an early member in a start-up. You’ll be working closely with our CEO and be a part of a small but collaborative community in ENGIE Factory, passionate about using technology and innovation to solve climate change.
We don’t see our interns any differently from one of us. If you’re up for it, lead teams, craft strategies or drive new initiatives – the sky’s the limit.
What you’ll be responsible for
While we encourage you to take ownership of your role and spend time on areas that you find exciting, the following tasks are likely to be a part of your role:
- Conduct customer research (homeowners, building owners or solar companies) to understand their needs and pain points in order to refine business strategies
- Serve as an inside sales representative in generating qualified leads through outbound emails or calls, follow-up to marketing campaigns and fielding website inquiries
- Manage and analyze sales activity and prospects through CRM systems and dashboards
- Assist in crafting proposals and communications materials to assist in business development
- Identify and evaluate new opportunities for business development and partnerships
Who we’re looking for
- A people person: friendly, loves interacting with others
- Customer-centric and self-driven in engaging stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial spirit and genuinely excited by a fast paced start-up environment
- Strong willingness to learn and pick up new skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deal with ambiguity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Please note that only Singaporeans or PRs and students from local Polytechnics or Universities will be eligible for this position.
Contract type and location
You must be able to commit full-time for a minimum of 16 weeks, up to a maximum of 6 months. The role will be based in Singapore with a flexible start date.
How to apply
We encourage interested applicants to write a short cover note stating your availability, your relevant portfolio and why you want to join us. Please apply with your CV and cover note.
We review applications on a rolling basis, and unfortunately may only reach out to shortlisted applicants. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
