Job description for Business Analytics/Data Scientist Intern (3-6 months) at Liberty Insurance Pte Ltd
Due to the growth of our business in the region, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Analytics/Data Scientist Intern (3-6 months) in our Product-A&H (Accident & Health Insurance) Department.
Reporting to the Asia Market Product Management Leader, the intern will work closely and collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver timely, meaningful and rich insights to a broad base of stakeholders’ needs.
Job Description:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business and IT, to create business values through data analytics & business intelligence projects
- Identifies, extracts, consolidates and analyse complex business data with minimal direction to derive actionable insights
- Manage data requests from various stakeholders and transform data into insights to address business questions
- Build data analytic tool using Excel and PowerBI to improve daily business operation
- Design data experiments to verify assumptions and hypothesis
- Gather requirements and specifications to support the deployment of the created analytics models, applications and visualisation of the results
Job Requirements:
- Pursuing a Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline: Analytics, Actuarial Study, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Finance
- Experience in extracting and manipulating large transactional data using MS SQL queries
- Experience in developing and implementing analytical techniques such as predictive modelling e.g. clustering, regression is an advantage
- Hands-on experience with Excel data analytics tools and programming, including Pivot Table, VBA, and Power Query
- Experience in building PowerBI dashboard with scheduled refresh and ETL capabilities
- Highly analytical, able to work independently and deliver result, and able to simplify complex data set into crystalized insights
- Self-starter and keen to learn about insurance business and insurance product specifications
- Excellent inter-personal, communication, documentation, facilitation & presentation skills; able to develop and create professional process flow charts and business reports in PowerPoint / Word format
- Previous work experience would be a plus
- Able to commence from 1st March is ideal and internship can be on full time/part time basis
