One of our clients, a well-established Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company with its head office in Surabaya and manufacturing facility in Sidoarjo, is currently seeking an experienced professional to join the team as a Assistant Production Manager.
The Assistant Production Manager in the FMCG industry serves as the operational backbone of the production function — ensuring that manufacturing activities are executed with speed, precision, quality, and safety to meet the ever-demanding requirements of the fast-moving consumer goods market.
Responsibilities:
• Report to Production Head.
• Assist the Production Head in planning, coordinating, and overseeing all production activities to ensure production targets, quality standards, cost efficiency, and production schedules are achieved.
• Manages production schedules in alignment with demand planning and supply chain requirements in FMCG environments
• Monitor the utilization of raw materials, utilities, and production resources to maximize efficiency while minimizing waste.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues that may impact production performance or disrupt manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to ensure implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) Departments to maintain product quality and address process or product non-conformities.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, ensuring that safety policies and procedures are consistently implemented.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records related to production activities, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and overall operational performance.
Requirements:
• Male, max. 40 years old.
• A Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering from reputable university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the FMCG manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PPIC, manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and inventory control.
• Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP (if applicable), ISO 9001, food/consumer safety standards, as well as Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations.
• Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools
• Analytical and problem-solving capability (RCA, FMEA)
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration, and deal with people at all levels professionally
• Results-driven with strong attention to detail
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work effectively under pressure and meet established deadline.
• Keen on detailed and have good analytical and critical thinking.
• Should be proactive and self-motivated team leader.
• Has a good attitude, highly interpersonal skill, role-model and discipline.
• Fluency in English both verbal and written is a must.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
