NIE is inviting dynamic individuals to join us as an Assistant Director to lead the course registration, examination and graduation matters in the Office of Academic Administration and Services.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversees the team that manages the end-to-end planning and execution of the course registration, written examination, prizes, awards and graduation ceremonies for the Initial Teacher Preparation, Sport Science and Management and Leadership programmes.
- Lead the team to plan and execute decisions that meet timelines and in full compliance of regulations and programme requirements.
- Ensure course registration schedules and instructions are published in a timely manner.
- Ensure course registration records of students are maintained accurately in the system.
- Ensure timely and accurate capture of records for the following activities: credit transfer, LOA, Withdrawals, S/U option and review of results.
- Oversee the team in the preparation and execution of NIE written examination.
- Ensure the team processes reasons for absenteeism for written examinations in a timely manner.
- Ensure relevant data for marks processing are set up in the mark entry system.
- Communicates and coordinates with academic groups/programme office for mark entry and marks processing exercise to ensure timely and accurate capture of academic results.
- Oversee the Assessment and Progression for the Initial Teacher Preparation, Sport Science and Management and Leadership programmes.
- Lead the team in ensuring adherence to established processes on accuracy of exam results, moderation of results, review of results appeal, timely release of exam results and secrecy of the results.
- Serve the Boards of Examiners as the resource person and secretariat.
- Lead the team to administer the prizes and awards include striking of gold medals, purchase of book prizes, check and track the balance of funds for each prize.
- Lead the team to plan and organize graduation ceremonies.
- Maintain a highly integrated student management system.
- Develop workplan and prepare annual budget for the team.
- Provide leadership to build a strong and competent team.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
- At least a bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 8 years of administrative experience in a managerial position, preferably in an educational institution. Experience in the operations and management of a range of academic programmes, particularly in the areas of course registration, examinations, prizes and awards and graduation would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Meticulous, strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- IT savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in systems development and implementation cycles as a user would be advantageous.
- Ability to multi-task and withstand pressure.
- Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in Minutes-taking and report-writing.
- Works well with prospective students, students, and academic staff.
- Strong work ethics.
- Willing to complete professional development courses for Student Services Professionals.
