Hypestream (YC S22) is hiring!

At Hypestream, we crunch millions of rows of data everyday, and are building reliable systems for real-time processing of terabytes of video data at scale.

Compensation/Job Info

Interns will be compensated with $2000/month. The job is fully remote, but you may be expected to meet in person from time to time. Interns will be expected to work Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm.

We are looking for a full-stack intern to:

1. Improve our video editing pipeline by:
1. Building secure code execution sandboxes in the cloud able to handle heavy I/O in the cloud
2. Building tools for AI agents to produce better videos
2. Work on local AI models for our product image detection pipeline
1. Fine tuning and improving the detection pipeline
3. Automated report generation pipeline

Job requirements

We are looking ONLY for candidates:

• Based in Singapore

We are looking for candidates who MUST HAVE:

• Strong technical skill
• Experience working with typescript

Nice to haves (From most to least important):

• Experience with content creation, even better if you have a moderately successful social media account
• Experience with python
• Experience training local AI models
• Experience creating distributed, reliable systems

About Hypestream

Hypestream is a fast growing company with a most recent 57% month-on-month growth.

We are building a platform for livesellers (streamers who sell products live) on whatnot.com to:

• Automatically generate viral content from their livestreams
• Make insight reports to better inform their streamers to improve the sales performance of their streams
• Improve their sales and operations

Interview process

We aim to be transparent about our interview process, so that we don't waste your time. This also serves as a guideline for you so you know how to perform better for each step of the interview to increase your chances of getting the role.

Step 1: 10 min online sync up

This is for us to get to know you a bit better, and make sure that you really are who you are.

Step 2 - Take home interview

We will give you a take home interview question, which will be highly related to the job that you will be doing here at Hypestream.

You will be given 24 hours from start to end to complete the interview question.

Usage of LLMs/Google/Asking your friends for help IS allowed. Utilise your resourcefulness to complete the task as effectively as possible.

Submissions will be graded on:

1. Code quality

• AI slop will not be tolerated - if your LLM produces unmaintainable code, it is your job as the human to tidy it up.

2. Output quality

• The quality of your submission will be taken into consideration.
• For example, if the task is to fine tune a local AI model, the model's accuracy will be part of the assessment criteria.

Step 3 - In-person interview

For the in-person interview, you will be given a task also highly related to the job you will be doing at Hypestream.

For this interview, usage of LLMs/Google is NOT allowed.

The interview question will be in typescript.

Step 4 - 1 week paid trial

Only one intern will be accepted at the time for the 1 week paid trial, so if you have made it this far, it means that we are mostly confident that you are well suited for the role.

You will be working on the Hypestream codebase for 1 week, helping to improve and run our automated video editing / product report pipelines.

Your goal for this stage is to run and manage the automated pipelines to a satisfactory standard such that the founders do not need to step in. If you are able to do that, the job is yours.
