Job description for SWAT TEAM at AQM Technologies Sdn Bhd
Will you be part of steering the future of InsurTech in Malaysia?
We’re new, like spanking new.
BUT we’re experts in the field, like people who know the ins and outs of the industry.
AND we are geared up to change the insurance landscape, starting in Malaysia.
The goal? Getting people protected and healthy, because what is insurance without health?
At AQM, we believe in doing what is fair, right and just. We are reimagining how insurance truly protects and inspiring people to embark on a journey to great health. With our AI-driven user journey, we leverage on technology to craft data-driven strategies. For that, we need teammates who have the same beliefs and want the same for their families.
We are a fast-growing, fast-paced insurtech company based in Singapore and Malaysia, and we have big plans. Our partners are industry giants and government linked agencies. We are just getting started.
SWAT Team
The designation might be an overkill but you get the gist.
Instead of wielding “Special Weapons and Tactics”, you get to take on “Special Work and Tactics” in capacities where no one has explored.
The idea is simple. Getting a few talented all-rounded fresh brains into the system and blow our old brains away. Putting together a team of 3 - 4, we can build a stellar think tank. As we embark on a journey to #ReThinkInsurance, we are re-examining the dinosaur industry as we strip parts away then rebuild it to a new age. You are right. We are walking into completely unknown territories and changing the game as we know it.
What the work will look like:
First month
- No two days are the same! Everyday you will be expected to run different tasks;
- You will participate in meetings, workshops and other learning opportunities, at the same time being attached to a senior to observe and learn on the job;
- Complete all assigned tasks and assisting with day-to-day operations AND learning about company policies, protocols and processes;
- Show interest in the tasks at hand and be present when problems arise.
3rd month
· Learn various team functions, including finance, marketing, HR, tech, product by performing ad-hoc duties as and when assigned;
· Provide support as needed in the various departments and be aware of your exposure and the training you have received in order to facilitate subsequent departmental transferability;
· Read up on industry updates and best practices to stay ahead of the pack and potentially fast track your career in fintech.
6th month
· Run dynamic projects that are supervised by co-founders where you will be entrusted to handle end-to-end planning and implementation;
· Identify goals, develop best practices and analyse current processes to determine how the team can improve output;
· You should be able to tell what you like the most and start planning how you’d like to progress in your career. Let our HR facilitate that for you once you have a good idea!
What is expected from you:
- Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Actuarial Science or IT/Computer Science;
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills too;
- Does not shy away from conflicts and is able to manage and handle multiple tasks under minimal supervision;
- Great problem-solving and analytical skills that can help you navigate work relationships;
- Unafraid to raise opinions, question the norm and be confident at it!
