Job description for Manager (DLCD) / Senior Learning Technologist (Centre for Innovation in Learning) [NIE] at National Institute Of Education
- Work with Academic Groups, Learning Strategists, Academic Quality, and other cross-functional teams to develop tech-enabled learning solutions and blended learning.
- Assess emerging technologies, identify and evaluate trends in educational uses of technology.
- Collaborate with faculty in harnessing technology for pedagogical innovation.
- Provide professional development, consultancy and support to faculty on the selection of appropriate technology tools for teaching and learning.
- Administer and provide end-user support for NIE’s learning management system (Blackboard) and other adopted digital learning platforms.
- Provide training and support in ensuring smooth implementation of the blended learning/online learning courses.
- Evaluate the pedagogical affordances of the various Blackboard building blocks to enhance the effectiveness of the learning management system.
- Partner with other stakeholders to implement and develop transition strategy to roll out institute-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate on initiatives with IN-Learning's Academic Community Engagement team to share this knowledge institute-wide.
- Work with other Learning Technologists regarding Capability Development needs for faculty, learning strategies, blended learning design, and course requirements that impact our initiatives.
- Design evaluation instruments and carry out planned evaluation activities.
- Demonstrate high level of motivation through meeting and working within established project budgets and timelines.
- Ensure successful internal and external cooperation in a variety of modes including face-to-face meetings, phone calls, virtual meetings, and written communication.
- Participate in and lead special projects as required.
- A Master’s degree in Instructional Design or Education (Learning Sciences). A doctoral degree in Instructional Design/Learning Sciences or equivalent will be an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in instructional design & development and developing blended/online learning.
- Experience in leading a learning technology team, coaching and mentoring team members.
- Proficiency in leveraging technology for teaching and learning.
- Good working knowledge in learning management system, usability and functionality testing methods, as well as course and learner evaluation methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to rapidly emerging technologies.
- Strong project management skills with experience in all phases of the instructional design process.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and presentation skills are required.
- Self-motivated, well organised and able to work individually/as part of a dynamic team.
- Attentive to details and able to follow formal business practices.
- Analytical and possess good creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Pro-active team player who can work with minimal supervision.
