Job description for Investment Analyst at Alta
We're looking for talented, analytical and passionate people to join our proven team as an Investment Analyst in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
- We have big plans to disrupt the traditional fundraising process for private businesses
- You will work closely with a diverse, cross-border team across our Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia offices – comprising former investment bankers, strategy consultants and business owners – in developing, monitoring and improving products to facilitate the activity of private investing
- Everything we do is focused on helping build the private capital markets for the next generation of business owners and investors
- We work really hard but play really hard as well
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Think strategically, analytically and creatively about new ways to acquire clients and support deal origination efforts in Southeast Asia
- Conduct due diligence and craft presentation documents including pitchbooks, teasers and proposals across a variety of industries
- Build and run financial models on relevant deals where appropriate
- Perform lead generation and build Fundnel’s network of investors regionally – PE/VC funds, corporate funds, family offices, external asset managers, high net worth angel investors
- Analyse and optimize the use of proprietary data to drive investor targeting and engagement activities
- Continuously track investor engagement activities and aid in the conversion of investor leads
- Assist in any aspect of the deal process and provide any operational support as required including liaising with legal and compliance counterparts
- General assistance to other senior members of the team
Skills and Experience:
- At least 1-year experience in a front office, client-facing role at a top-tier investment bank, a Big Four accounting firm, or a tech company. Prior startup experience welcome
- Fresh graduates may apply, but will be subject to rigorous rounds of interviews, case studies and financial analysis
- Strong working knowledge of the financial markets and capital raising methods; understanding of financial analysis and modelling an advantage
- Excellent project management skills and a keen attention to detail
- A sense of curiosity and a strong ability to collaborate and work in ambiguous situations
- Ability to network and build meaningful relationships with sophisticated investors
- Superior presentation and communication skills, both written & verbal; strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel is a must
- A keen interest in the startup space and innovation within the financial markets
