The Role We are looking for a detail-oriented and eager-to-learn Junior Finance Executive to support our daily accounting operations and financial reporting. This is an excellent entry-level role for a fresh graduate or junior finance professional to build a strong foundation in corporate finance, statutory compliance, and business operations within a fast-growing, ESG-driven technology company.
What You Will Do
1. Assist in the preparation and processing of daily financial transactions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
2. Process employee claims, vendor invoices, and payment vouchers accurately and in a timely manner.
3. Assist with bank reconciliations, petty cash management, and maintaining accurate cash flow records.
4. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing basic financial schedules and journal entries.
5. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, expense tracking, and management dashboards.
6. Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, including the timely preparation and submission of tax (SST, PCB) and statutory returns (EPF, SOCSO, EIS).
7. Liaise with internal departments (such as Sales and Operations) to verify billing, follow up on customer payments, and resolve invoice discrepancies.
8. Maintain proper filing and documentation of all financial records, ensuring both physical and digital archives are audit-ready.
9. Assist in coordinating with internal and external auditors during interim and final audit periods by preparing required schedules.
10. Perform other ad-hoc finance, administrative, and operational duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
What We Are Looking For
1. Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Fresh graduate or up to 1 year of working experience in finance, accounting, or audit. (Candidates with internship experience in finance are encouraged to apply).
3. Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and statutory compliance in Malaysia.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (basic formulas, data entry, VLOOKUP, and formatting).
5. Familiarity with any standard accounting software (e.g., AutoCount, SQL, SAP) is an added advantage, but not mandatory as training will be provided.
6. Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and good numerical skills.
7. Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
8. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. A proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within the finance team.
10. Passion for sustainability, ESG, or circular economy concepts is highly desirable.
