Global Prestasi School is seeking a Cambridge Chemistry Teacher to teach Chemistry within the Cambridge IGCSE Curriculum for Junior High School students. This role is designed for educators who understand the academic aims of Cambridge education and can deliver clear, engaging Chemistry instruction in English.
The teacher will support students’ conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry skills, and readiness for Cambridge-style assessments.
Job Description
- Teach Chemistry at the Junior High School level following the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
- Plan and deliver lessons that develop students’ conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking skills.
- Prepare students for IGCSE examinations through structured instruction and practice assessments.
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments safely and effectively.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching resources, and assessment materials aligned with Cambridge standards.
- Monitor, assess, and report student academic progress regularly.
- Maintain a safe and well-managed laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and interdisciplinary learning.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field (Master’s is very acceptable).
- Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and preparing students for IGCSE examinations is highly preferred.
- Preferably those who also have experience in Biology.
- Familiar with the Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry curriculum and examinations.
- Teaching certification or license, especially for Cambridge, is an advantage.
- Fluent in English (spoken & written) and comfortable teaching using English, with strong classroom management skills.
- Proficient in digital tools and online learning platforms.
- Passionate about science education and student achievement.
