Job description for Book Designer/Graphic Designer at High and Low Headhunters

- Collaborating with the author to ensure that the finished product meets TCM Review
- objectives and adheres to TCM Review brand and style guides
- Responsible for creating layout for the book including typeface, font sizes, images, formatting
- Performing quality checks on all files to ensure that text is consistent throughout the book
- Communicating with the author and other stakeholders to stay informed about project status
- Working with printers to ensure that the design meets printing requirements, such as being compatible with presses used in book manufacturing
- Creating mockups (sketches or electronic versions) of the interior layout to show the designer’s vision for the layout of the book’s pages
- Providing feedback to authors, editors, and other publishing staff regarding layout and design suggestions
- Editing text, including correcting spelling and grammatical errors, to create a final, publishable manuscript
- Designing covers using software such as Adobe InDesign
- Preparing final files for printing by converting files from one format to another if necessary
- Managing projects from typesetting through to graphic design, print and production
- Developing concepts, graphics and layouts including making decisions about fonts, images, readability and reader’s needs
- Maintaining and updating website images
- Determining size and arrangement of copy and illustrative material, as well as font style and size
- Collaborating with the director and video creator and editor on graphics for videos
- Collaborating with the director and social media manager
- Collaborate with the director on development of animated power points for lecture
- Preparing rough drafts of materials based on project scope
- Create monthly IG posts consistent with our branding
- Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required
- Keeping up to date with design and software trends
- Liaising with teams to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed or presented to the highest quality
