Job description for Associate Legal Manager – Regulatory and Compliance at Ruangguru
- Draft and provide legal advice on matters relating to the Company’s business activities and transactions to avoid or minimize legal risk and to comply with the prevailing laws and regulations
- Stay current and provide regular updates on key developments impacting the Company’s business and collaborate with other legal team members to provide the most comprehensive legal and business know-how available.
- Provide, develop, and review our standard template contracts and make sure any such template/registration documents are all in order to be legally compliant with existing policies
- Conduct regulatory assessment and provide advice for the Company’s division/department head concerning how laws and regulations impact their functional areas
- Lead and drive compliance-related initiatives and ensure they are well implemented across the Company’s divisions
- Together with other legal team members, develop and conduct engaging internal trainings for internal partners on various topics to help reduce risk
- Maintain and secure the Company’s business licenses and permits across our business units and supporting any M&A and licensing-related activities
- Be a part of or maintain a good relationship with industry associations and professional legal organization
- Proven solid experience as in-house legal counsel or experienced lawyers in reputable law firms with 2-4+ years of experience
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Indonesia due to the nature of the business
- Demonstrate a keen ability to issue-spot sensitive legal and business concerns, including a strong sense of when to escalate such matters to internal partners, and proactively propose solutions
- A highly approachable, collegial, and collaborative approach, aiming to building bridges and balancing needs across a rapidly changing organization and able to empathize through differences of view and values of others
- An accountable and proactive self-starter, comfortable working independently and remotely with colleagues
- Strong leadership, organizational, negotiation, and project management skills
- Having a PERADI license and/or masters degree would be advantageous
