Job Description
Job Title: Therapist Aide (Autism Support)
You’ll support children, youths and young adults with autism through meaningful, hands-on programmes. You’ll work closely with our supervisior and volunteers to facilitate social skills groups, recreational activities, and daily skills intervention in a structured and supportive environment.
What You’ll Do
Support and facilitate social skills programmes
Assist in recreational sports, arts, and play-based activities
Help implement daily living and functional skills programmes under supervision
Support participants with behaviour regulation and positive behaviour strategies, following guidance from supervisor
Engage participants in a positive, encouraging and fun way while maintaining structure
Collect basic data and help with session notes and simple reports
Assist with planning and preparing activities, lessons, and curriculum materials
Assist with updating social media, including writing short and engaging posts
Help ensure sessions run smoothly, safely, and enjoyably
What We’re Looking For
Genuine interest in working with individuals with autism
Creative, fun personality with the ability to engage and motivate participants and volunteers
Good communication skills, both with participants, team members and volunteers
Good writing skills, ability to express ideas clearly in writing
Patient, dependable, and calm when supporting challenging behaviours
Kind and caring, comfortable working with children, youths and young adults with autism
Open to feedback and able to follow guidance from supervisor, good team player
Punctual and committed to sessions on specified weekdays mornings ($14/hr) and weekends ($18/hr)
Relevant experience or background in early childhood education, special needs, psychology, or related fields is an advantage, but not required.
