We are looking for Managing Editor, Digital Lifestyle & News Brand, to lead the next chapter of an established digital lifestyle and news brand focused on Singapore. This role is suited for an experienced editorial leader with sharp news judgment, strong aesthetic instincts, and a deep understanding of what resonates with modern Singaporean audiences.
You will be responsible for shaping and evolving the brand’s editorial direction – redefining its voice, tone, and visual sensibility – while ensuring content remains timely, relevant, and scalable across platforms, from the website to social media and future content extensions. This role requires someone who can balance creativity with performance, translating editorial vision into measurable audience growth and engagement.
What You’ll Do
Define and own the overall editorial vision and direction of the brand, with a mandate to refresh and evolve it for today’s Singaporean audiences
Lead editorial planning and oversight across lifestyle, culture, news, and trend-driven content – ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency across all platforms
Identify emerging conversations, cultural moments, and trends in Singapore – translating them into compelling editorial stories
Drive creative and editorial strategies towards measurable outcomes – with key performance metrics being community growth, reach, and engagement
Manage and work closely with writers, designers, contributors, and social media specialists to execute content efficiently and cohesively
Guide the adaptation of long-form and web content into social-first formats for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels
Use audience insights and analytics to refine content strategy, balancing editorial creativity with data-informed decision-making
Identify opportunities to expand the brand through new formats, platforms, and editorial products with a view towards monetization
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Digital Journalism, Digital Media/Communications, or a related field
8+ years of experience in digital media, lifestyle publishing, or news, including time in a senior editorial leadership role
A strong editorial instinct and clear creative vision for repositioning and growing a digital media brand
A keen understanding of Singapore’s cultural landscape and the conversations that resonate with local audiences
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to uphold editorial standards, refine copy, and step in to write when necessary
Strong news judgment and the ability to operate in fast-paced digital publishing cycles, quickly identifying breaking stories or emerging trends and mobilising teams to produce timely content
Experience managing editorial output across websites and social platforms, with an eye for both written and visual storytelling
Familiarity with digital audience growth, content monetisation, and platform-driven media models
The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership in a dynamic newsroom environment
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
An appreciation of the national and institutional context in which the brand operates, and the ability to incorporate appropriate messaging where relevant within editorial content
