A Head Barista's job involves leading cafe operations, supervising staff, ensuring drink and customer service quality, managing inventory, training junior baristas, and maintaining a clean, efficient work environment. This leadership role blends technical coffee expertise with management skills to uphold brand standards and create a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Training:

Supervise and guide a team of baristas.

Train new and existing staff on coffee preparation, latte art, customer service, and operational standards.

Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to develop a high-performing team.

Quality Control:

Ensure all beverages and food items meet high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.

Maintain consistency in recipes and preparation techniques.

Regularly check and maintain coffee equipment to ensure it's in proper working order.

Operations & Inventory Management:

Oversee daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

Monitor and manage inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.

Handle ordering and stock rotation to prevent shortages and minimize waste.

Customer Service:

Create a welcoming atmosphere and foster a customer-focused culture.

Engage with customers, offer recommendations, and resolve any complaints or issues related to service.

Health & Safety:

Maintain a high level of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the cafe environment.

Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety regulations.

Required Skills & Attributes

Technical Coffee Skills:

Expertise in espresso extraction, coffee brewing, latte art, and other coffee-making techniques.

Leadership & Communication:

Strong ability to lead, motivate, and train a team, as well as communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
