Job Title: Assistant BBQ Grilling Server (Part-time)
Job Level: Experienced
Department: F&B Operations
Weekday Rate: $18/hour
Weekend Rate: $21/hour
Schedule: Minimum 3 days/week, 27 hours/week minimum, up to 35 hours/week
Overall Job Objectives:
The Assistant Tableside BBQ Grilling Server is mainly responsible for preparing and grilling foods to meet specific customer preferences, and required to handle minimal tasks in other areas of the kitchen in addition to their grill stations.
ADVANCEMENT CRITERIA: Promotion to Lead BBQ Grilling Server based on exceptional storytelling, VIP customer handling, consistent schedule, and superior technical grilling skills.
Key responsibilities:
1. TABLESIDE GRILLING EXPERTISE
Perform tableside grilling with skill and showmanship
Grill meats to customer specifications (rare, medium, well-done, etc.)
Execute proper grilling techniques for different cuts and preparations
Tell engaging stories about Korean BBQ traditions and meat preparation
2. STATION COLLABORATION
Manage station alongside a station server as a coordinated team
Divide responsibilities effectively to maximize customer experience
Communicate seamlessly with partner server during service
3. MENU & BEVERAGE UPSELLING
Recommend premium cuts, side dishes, and pairings
Suggest beverage pairings to elevate the dining experience
Drive revenue through knowledgeable, consultative selling
Educate customers on various ways to enjoy each meat cut
4. EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
Maintain all BBQ equipment in excellent working condition
Clean grills, burners, and tools between services
Report equipment issues immediately to management
Ensure safety standards are met at all times
5. CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Create interactive, entertaining tableside experiences
Adapt grilling style to customer preferences and dietary needs
Handle special requests with professionalism and skill
Qualifications of the role:
Minimum of 6 months tableside grilling experience at a reputable restaurant, or Korean restaurant
Ability to speak simple to average English and other local languages, to provide good customer service for customers.
Strong sense of responsibility and a hardworking individual.
Willingness to work as a team player when preparing dishes and coordinating meal service
Understanding of portions when cutting and slicing meat, poultry etc.
