Position Overview
The Food & Beverage Service Intern is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences by ensuring all guest interactions align with the highest service standards. This role involves learning and executing daily food and beverage service operations while understanding the brand and culinary philosophy to enhance guest satisfaction. The intern will receive hands-on training and work closely with colleagues from various departments, including direct collaboration with leadership teams and stakeholders.
The Role
Guest Engagement: Provide a warm and personalized dining experience by welcoming guests, anticipating their needs, and ensuring a seamless service flow.
Service Execution: Assist in taking orders, serving food and beverages, and clearing tables while maintaining Capella's high service standards.
Menu Knowledge: Be fully familiar with the menu offerings, ingredients, and beverage pairings to make recommendations and upsell where appropriate.
Dining Area Maintenance: Ensure tables, chairs, and service stations are clean, organized, and set up according to standards before, during, and after service.
Order Accuracy & Coordination: Communicate guests' special requests, allergies, and dietary needs to the kitchen and bar to ensure flawless service.
Beverage Service: Assist in preparing and serving beverages, including coffee, tea, and cocktails, while adhering to quality and safety guidelines.
Forbes Service Standards: Uphold luxury service standards in alignment with Capella Ubud's commitment to excellence.
Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with the culinary, bar, and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive dining experience.
Cleanliness & Hygiene: Follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation procedures, ensuring all dining areas and service stations comply with health and safety regulations.
Flexibility & Adaptability: Be open to rotating within different sub-departments of Food & Beverage or assisting other departments when required.
Talent Profile:
An active student that enrolled in a college or university preferably in Hotel/Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Service program
Excellent interpersonal skills with personable character, a team player and good at cultivating strong guest relations
Very good command in spoken and written English, additional languages will be an advantage
Great attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to multitask and prioritize
Possess a great communication skill
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all time
Flexible regarding work schedules
Highly responsible and reliable
Frequent lifting carrying up to 30 lbs
Occasional ascending or descending ladders and stairs
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as a part of the team with minimum supervision
