Position Description
Title: Venue Management Operations
This is a contract position. (1 Month - 6 Months)
Reporting Structure
You will report to the Venue Manager.
You will be working within Singapore International Marathon Pte.Ltd. (SGIMPL) based in Singapore.
Position Overview
This person is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all venue operations for BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by Adidas to ensure a safe, efficient and seamless participant experience. The role requires close coordination with event operations, vendors, race officials, volunteers and safety personnel to ensure all start line procedures are conducted according to event timelines and operational standards.
Scope of Assignment
This person will oversee all operational aspects related to the venue area during the preparation and execution of BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by Adidas within the contract period. This includes manpower coordination, crowd management, race pen execution, communication with stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to safety and event protocols.
The role will support pre-event planning, on-site event execution, and post-event reporting to ensure successful delivery of the event.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Coordination
Plan and manage start line operational requirements for BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by Adidas.
Coordinate with the SGIMPL team, vendors, medical teams, security, and relevant stakeholders.
Develop and execute start line operational flow, pen release schedules and contingency plans.
Start Line Operations
Oversee setup and readiness of the start line area, including barricades, signage, gantries, holding PENs, and runner flow.
Ensure accurate implementation of race start procedures and timing coordination.
Manage crowd control and participant movement to maintain safety and efficiency.
Team & Volunteer Management
Brief and coordinate event week / event day staff, crew, and volunteers.
Assign duties and ensure all personnel understand operational procedures and emergency protocols.
Provide on-ground leadership during event operations.
Communication & Reporting
Maintain clear communication with the event command centre and SGIMPL teams throughout event execution.
Provide real time updates and resolve operational issues promptly.
Prepare post-event reports, including operational feedback and improvement recommendations.
Skills & Experience Required
Prior experience in sports events and mass participation events preferred.
Experience managing operational teams, volunteers, or event crew.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
Excellent coordination, communication, and problem solving skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications tools.
