Position Purpose
The Cashier is responsible for handling all guest payment transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring a smooth checkout experience while maintaining financial integrity and excellent customer service in line with Milk and Madu standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Handling & Transactions
Process all guest payments (cash, card, and other approved payment methods) accurately.
Issue receipts and ensure all transactions are properly recorded in the POS system.
Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
POS & Billing Accuracy
Ensure all orders are correctly entered and billed according to the system.
Apply discounts, promotions, and service charges in accordance with company policy.
Identify and report any discrepancies immediately to the supervisor.
Guest Service
Greet guests warmly and assist with billing-related inquiries.
Handle payment-related questions or concerns professionally.
Coordinate with service staff to ensure a smooth guest experience.
Reporting & Administration
Prepare daily cashier reports and submit them to management as required.
Maintain proper documentation for cash, vouchers, and non-cash payments.
Support audit and finance requirements when needed.
Compliance & Standards
Follow company SOPs related to cash handling, fraud prevention, and data confidentiality.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the cashier area.
Comply with hygiene, safety, and grooming standards.
Team Support
Coordinate closely with FOH and management during busy service periods.
Assist with other FOH duties when required, in accordance with operational needs.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year experience as a Cashier in a restaurant, café, or hospitality environment.
Familiar with POS systems and basic financial procedures.
High level of accuracy, honesty, and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and customer-focused attitude.
Able to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Experience in a high-volume F&B environment is an advantage.
