Job Summary
Serve as a bilingual bridge between English and Chinese-speaking communities, managing administrative tasks and supporting parishioners in a part-time church administrator role.
Responsibilities
- Draft and translate weekly bulletins, announcements, and emails in both English and Chinese to ensure clear communication across communities
- Respond to parishioner inquiries in their preferred language, providing timely and empathetic support
- Manage church office staff including Facility Executive and Accounts/Admin personnel to maintain efficient daily operations
- Maintain accurate bilingual parish registers and databases to support church record-keeping and reporting
Required competencies and certifications
- Full professional fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin/Hokkien as required) to perform bilingual communication tasks effectively
- Minimum 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in church or non-profit settings, to handle office operations and congregational support
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Chinese input methods (Pinyin) to manage digital communications and records
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Familiarity with church software to enhance administrative efficiency
- Demonstrated discretion, empathy, and organizational skills to maintain confidentiality and support community needs
- Commitment to a 1–2 year part-time role to ensure continuity and reliability in service
