We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the company’s finance operations, treasury management, trade finance activities, and financial reporting within the oil trading business.

The candidate will work closely with trading, operations, and risk teams to ensure proper financial control, cash flow management, funding support, and compliance for both physical and paper trading activities.

Job Description

Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee full spectrum of finance and accounting functions.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Ensure timely closing of accounts and financial reconciliation.

Monitor company cash flow, profitability, and working capital.

Prepare management reports including trading P&L analysis and financial performance review.

Coordinate annual audit, tax filing, and statutory reporting requirements.

Trade Finance

Manage trade finance facilities including LC issuance, trust receipts, bank guarantees, and financing arrangements.

Liaise with banks regarding banking facilities, credit lines.

Monitor utilization of LC lines and funding exposure.

Ensure sufficient liquidity support for trading activities and cargo settlements.

Trading & Risk Support

Work closely with traders and risk team to monitor trading exposure and settlement risks.

Review trading contracts from financial and payment risk perspective.

Monitor receivables, payables, and counterparty settlement status.

Support MTM reporting, margin monitoring, and hedge settlement processes.

Coordinate with risk manager regarding credit exposure and payment risks.

Operational Finance Support

Supervise AP, AR, payment processing, and bank reconciliations.

Review payment approvals and operational expenses.

Monitor overdue receivables and coordinate collection efforts.

Support cargo settlement and invoice verification processes.

Process Improvement

Improve finance workflow efficiency and reporting automation.

Participate in ERP/ETRM implementation and finance system enhancement projects.

Requirements

Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.

5-8 years of relevant working experience (accounting and/or tax) and preferably for commodities trading /oil and gas industry.

Experience in multi-entity or regional environment preferred.

Exposure to trading / commodities /oil & gas is an advantage.

Good technical knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards will be an advantage.

Prior supervisory or team lead experience is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.

Good understanding of tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Proficient in Microsoft Offices esp. Excel, Power Points and accounting systems

Bilingual in English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with stakeholders
