A Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction in line with the restaurant’s standards. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude to create a pleasant dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests promptly in a professional and friendly manner.
- Present menus and provide detailed information when asked (e.g., about portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies).
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Serve food and drinks in a timely manner following service standards.
- Check customers’ identification to ensure they meet age requirements for alcoholic beverages (if applicable).
- Arrange table settings and maintain a clean, organized dining area.
- Ensure all dishes and beverages are delivered correctly and meet quality standards.
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating issues to the supervisor/manager when necessary.
- Process payments (cash, credit/debit cards) accurately.
- Follow all hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Support team members and assist in opening/closing duties of the restaurant.
Requirements & Skills:
- Proven work experience as a Waiter/Waitress or in customer service (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage menus.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
