About Kopi Date

Kopi Date is a dating programme helping singles in Singapore build healthier, more meaningful relationships. We don't do swiping. We curate intentional, offline coffee dates and combine them with relational skills education — because we believe love is a skill. We're bootstrapped, profitable, and growing.

The Role

We're hiring a short-form video editor to cut raw footage into high-performing reels and ad hooks for our paid social and organic content. You'll work directly from briefs given by our creative director — meaning you don't have to figure out the brand, the angle, or the strategy. Your job is execution craft: pacing, hook, sourcing and curation of clips, compression, captions, music sync, and producing variants quickly.

This is a freelance role to start, up to 20 hours/week, with a clear path to expanded scope or full-time as the content engine scales.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll cut raw footage (UGC, founder clips, member interviews) into 15–60 second reels and ads. You'll also source and curate stock footage, animation clips and other supporting clips, picking b-roll that fits our brand and elevates the story, not just fills space. You'll produce 3–5 hook variants per concept so we can test what performs, add captions optimised for sound-off mobile viewing, sync music and pacing to match the energy of each piece, and turn around revisions quickly.

What We're Looking For

You've edited short-form video for paid social or DTC brands and you can show performance numbers — hook rate, thumbstop, CTR, ROAS, or view-through rate — on at least three pieces of work you've personally edited. If you've only done brand films or aesthetic content, this isn't the right role.

You understand the craft of the first 1.5 seconds. You can articulate why a hook works, not just produce one that does.

You have taste in stock footage and b-roll. You can scroll a stock library and pick the three clips that elevate a piece, ignoring the 50 that look generic.

You're fluent in CapCut and at least one of Premiere or DaVinci. You work fast — comfortable producing a finished hook variant in 2–4 hours from clean footage.

You write fluent English and can read a brief, ask sharp clarifying questions, and ship without being chased.

You're curious about people and relationships. Not a dating expert, but the topic genuinely interests you.

Process

Hourly rate discussed in interview, based on experience and portfolio. Final stage is a short test edit — a few hour of work on real Kopi Date footage — so we can see your craft on our material before committing.
