Job description for UIUX Designer (Senior/ Entry-level/ Internship) at Hipster Private Limited
Solving user problems through design excites you! That’s exactly who we’re looking for at Hipster. Our team is looking for a UI/UX designer to create rapid prototypes, design high-fidelity prototypes, and conduct user research. If you’re keen to take your design skills up a notch, and work closely with our close-knitted team, read on!
Your main tasks involve
- Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with clients, product managers, developers, and end-users.
- Illustrate design ideas with a variety of tools eg. information architectures, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, storyboards, and more
- Design awesome-looking websites and mobile apps deployed in various industries and countries. You will be working on the interface elements, like menu, tabs, forms etc
- Conduct user testing using prototypes and user research, to optimize UI designs.
- Adhere to or/and create styleguides on typography, colors and images for digital products
- You’ll also work closely with other developers, fellow designers, and project managers to ensure implementation of design to product.
- Communicate design ideas with stakeholders and clients.
Requirements
- Candidates do not need to possess a degree in the relevant field. However, the candidate should be able to demonstrate an interest in the field(s) of UI and/or UX
- Having relevant work experiences will be advantageous.
- Candidates without any relevant work experience will start with a 3-6 months internship, which leads to a full-time conversion upon good performance.
- This is a full-time position.
- Familiarity with Figma and other prototyping tools.
- Desire to learn and adapt to new technologies matters ALOT to our team. (more than X years of experience, since the world of technology is ever-changing)
- Able to work independently and effectively in a team.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and love solving problems
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Be open to receiving constructive feedback
What You'll Learn
- Exposure to a variety projects and technologies in an agency setting. Our clients come from Fintech, Edutech, E-commerce, government agencies and more from different countries. You will have the opportunity to design a corporate website, a dashboard for hiring, a platform for trading cryptos etc and build a big fat design portfolio!

FAQ
- Q: Do I need to know programming? A: No, we have over 60 developers in our team. A basic knowledge in HTML, CSS and Javascript is a plus but is not required.
- Q: Is this really a UI and UX design role, and not a graphic designer role? A: Yes, 95% of the time you will be working on interface design. For the remaining 5%, you may need to create artwork to be used in the interface/ logo/ adhoc design tasks.
- Q: I'm new to the role, will I be the sole designer in the team? A: Our design team currently comprise of a few members, and we are looking forward to welcoming you to the team! Furthermore, Hipster has experience developing apps/websites since 2016. While we expect team members to work independently, we provide support and bounce off ideas as a team.
- Q: What's the culture like at Hipster? A: We are a small team, with a nurturing environment. We don't base our hiring decision largely on experience.
