Surer is an InsurTech startup that will revolutionise the way the General Insurance industry manages their entire workflow, from an agent advising their clients (the end policyholder) to how the Insurer distributes their products.
And as a Product Design Intern, you get to be a part of the revolution! Responsibilities
We are looking for a talented and self-driven Product Designer who learns fast and has the nous to think out-of-the-box - to make a big difference for the Insurance industry and empower the parties within this ecosystem.
Your day to day task will be focused on working directly with the founding team and be on the leading front to develop new features, suggest better UI/UX upgrades and testing of functionalities.
In summary, you will:
- Work to design an eye-catching and responsive user interface, make the user experience on our platform simple and seamless.
- Help the team design user flows and iterate the product based on feedback from our customer-facing teams.
- Work with our Frontend Engineer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation.
- Work with the Community Engagement team to conduct user interviews with insurance agents and insurers to understand how we can improve the user experience and better address their needs - ultimately to translate such insights into product features or iterations.
- Manage end-to-end implementation process: Work closely with our tech team to ensure product design and requirements are clearly communicated.
- Work on product testing to ensure that the end-product is consistent with product design and meets the business goals and user needs.
- Design sketches, low to high fidelity user interfaces and experiences for our Web apps, and keep yourself up to date on the latest design patterns.
Experience and Skill Sets
Must have:
- Experience working with Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, Figma, Adobe XD or similar tools.
- Understand UI/UX design principles for web apps.
- Passion for design.
- Passion, for building usable and beautiful user experiences.
- Attention to details - you know it when a full-stop is missing, or if the font size is off by 2 pts!
Nice to Have:
- Strong communication skills - you are able to conduct user interviews independently and can effectively communicate your design and rationale with the team.
- Eager to learn - it’s alright if you don’t have much experience, we are all learning! However, it is important to be eager to learn and that you’ll go the extra mile to pick up the required skills.
- UI/UX design exposure and experience in making web applications work intuitively
- Able to work independently as well as in a team
- Able to multitask in a demanding, fast paced environment and work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
