Role summary
Create branded avatar items and intuitive user interfaces for Roblox experiences. You will help bring brand identities into the Roblox avatar ecosystem while designing interfaces that make gameplay easy to understand, particularly during the first minute of play.
Responsibilities
UGC and avatar items
- Design and create branded avatar accessories, layered clothing, and other eligible avatar items for the Roblox ecosystem.
- Model and prepare 3D assets using Blender or equivalent tools, ensuring compatibility with applicable Roblox avatar and item specifications.
- Rig, cage, and test supported items across relevant avatar body types and configurations.
- Prepare assets and supporting materials for moderation and publishing in accordance with applicable Roblox Marketplace and creator requirements.
- Create item thumbnails, promotional renders, and visual assets for campaign presentation and promotion.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director and client team to ensure branded items meet visual guidelines while fitting Roblox's avatar style and platform rules.
UI/UX design
- Design Roblox game interfaces, including menus, HUDs, shops, inventories, onboarding screens, rewards, and interactive prompts.
- Design mobile-first interfaces with readable typography, appropriate touch targets, and clear visual hierarchy across screen sizes.
- Create icons, buttons, thumbnails, and other visual assets for the Roblox experience and its listing page.
- Design user flows that help players understand objectives, rewards, and gameplay mechanics quickly.
- Prepare organised, production-ready UI assets and specifications for Roblox Scripters to implement in Studio.
- Review the implemented UI in Roblox Studio and collaborate with the development team to resolve visual, usability, and responsive-layout issues.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in game UI/UX design, 3D character or accessory art, or a combination of these disciplines.
- Experience designing for Roblox, demonstrated through published UGC items, Roblox UI projects, or relevant portfolio work.
- Strong skills in Figma or equivalent UI design tools, alongside Blender or equivalent 3D software where applicable to the role.
- Understanding of Roblox avatar styles, interface conventions, platform requirements, and the needs of a broad and younger player audience.
- Ability to interpret brand guidelines and adapt visual identities for Roblox experiences without compromising usability or platform compliance.
- Strong visual design skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with artists, designers, and developers.
Nice to have
- Approved Roblox UGC creator with published Marketplace items.
- Experience creating layered clothing, avatar accessories, or other eligible avatar-related assets.
- Motion design skills for interface animations and interactive feedback.
- 2D illustration, thumbnail design, or key art experience.
- Experience creating UI or avatar items for branded, sponsored, or campaign-based Roblox experiences.
Portfolio required
Provide relevant Roblox UGC Marketplace links, avatar item designs, and game UI/UX work. Include screenshots, prototypes, or playable experiences where available, and specify your individual contributions to each project
