Deskripsi pekerjaan Team Leader Painting PT WELSON GROUP
Job Description: Painting Team Leader (Project & Launch Phase)
Job Summary
The Painting Team Leader (Project Phase) is responsible for the hands-on execution of machine setup, trial runs, and operator training. Unlike a steady-state role, this position focuses on "dialing in" the process—identifying technical glitches, refining jig placements, and ensuring the first batches of toys meet the rigorous aesthetic and safety standards required for mass production.
Key Responsibilities: Project & Pilot Phase
1. Trial Run Execution & Troubleshooting:
- Lead the "First Run" of new toy models through the painting line.
- Identify and resolve immediate technical issues such as paint sagging, "orange peel" textures, or uneven coverage.
- Adjust nozzle atomization, fan patterns, and fluid flow on spray guns to match the specific geometry of the new toy parts.
2. Jig & Tooling Validation:
- Test and provide feedback on painting jigs (the holders for the toys).
- Ensure jigs are ergonomically sound for operators and do not leave "shadows" or unpainted spots on critical areas of the toy.
- Report necessary modifications to the engineering team to improve throughput.
3. Safety & Compliance Monitoring (Toy Standards)
- Ensure all team members are using the correct non-toxic paint batches assigned to the specific project.
- Strictly enforce the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and ensure the spray booth’s filtration is working at 100% capacity to prevent dust contamination on wet toys.
4. On-the-Job Training (OJT)
- Train a core group of operators on the specific nuances of the new project (e.g., "This toy requires a 45-degree spray angle for the inner joints").
- Create "Limit Samples" (Gold Standards) to show operators the difference between an acceptable finish and a reject.
5. Data Collection & Reporting
- Track and report the Reject Rate during the pilot phase to the Supervisor.
- Document the exact "Recipe" used for success (e.g., 2:1 mixing ratio, 40 PSI pressure) to be locked in for mass production.
Technical Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years in industrial spray painting, specifically with plastics (ABS, PVC, PP) or die-cast metal.
- Color Vision: Must pass a Munsell Hue test or equivalent (perfect color perception is mandatory for toys).
- Tooling Knowledge: Expertise in cleaning and maintaining HVLP guns, airbrushes, or pad-printing plates.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) limits and the importance of Lead-Free/Phthalate-Free compliance.
