Job Description

As part of the data management team, this candidate is responsible for installation, configuration and administration of the Tableau server and client applications. Duties will include establishing best practice methodologies for the administration of the Tableau platform. This position involves the design and development of the BI/Tableau data infrastructure, data source creation, security (user access), change control of Tableau objects and overall Tableau support. Development experience in the Tableau environment is required.

Qualification

Minimum 3 years of Tableau Server administration
Minimum 3 years of Windows Server administration
Experience with VMware virtual desktop environment
Development experience in the Tableau environment
Excellent understanding of Active Directory, DNS, Load Balancer and Network firewall
Experience configuring Single Sign-on (SSO) with SAML authentication
Proficient in Tableau command line utility
Good understanding of database concepts including writing SQL statements
Experience with Jira in managing tasks and good understanding of Agile process
Strong troubleshooting skills
Must be able to obtain necessary security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related fields or equivalent work experience required

Responsibilities

Perform installation, migration and upgrade of Tableau Servers and Desktops under High Availability scenario
Perform performance analysis of existing Tableau Servers and make Best Practice recommendations
Perform day to day administration of Tableau Servers in VMware environment:

manage sites and projects
configure and manage project permissions
provide periodic reports on Tableau Server usage
publish Tableau workbooks and data extracts

Configure and maintain Active Directory integration with Tableau Server
Configure and troubleshoot Single Sign On (SSO) issues for Tableau Server
Provide 2nd tier support to user community on various Tableau Server and Desktop issues
Understanding of Azure Active Directory is an added advantage
