Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or Network Administrator or DevOps or other similar roles.
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
- Experience with various operating systems and platforms in cloud computing.
- Experience with cloud services and its components such as storage buckets, compute engines, relational database services (RDS), network and security groups, virtual private networks (VPNs), and more.
- Familiarity with major cloud service providers, their services, and how to effectively utilize them for different needs.
- Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes with minimum 2 years of experience.
- Understanding of orchestration and deployment patterns using these technologies.
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and related tools with minimum 1 year of experience.
- Proficiency in shell scripting and other scripting tools for task automation and system administration tasks.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage numerous demands.
- Experience with project management tools and software to facilitate planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Knowledge of risk management and mitigation strategies in system administration.
