Roles & Responsibilities (Purchasing Staff)
The Purchasing Staff is responsible for ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and quality procurement of materials and goods required by the company. The role includes supplier management, cost control, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, source, evaluate, audit, and approve qualified suppliers to meet company standards.
- Coordinate the preparation and evaluation of samples for both new and existing products, including changes in materials or new suppliers, and follow up until approval is obtained.
- Request quotations, compare prices, analyze cost structures, and place purchase orders based on approved purchasing requisitions.
- Monitor material delivery schedules to ensure on-time supply and communicate with suppliers regarding delays or quality-related issues.
- Verify purchasing details, delivery documents, and invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with agreements.
- Continuously track market prices of materials to maintain reasonable and competitive material costs.
- Handle procurement of non-production items, such as office supplies, tools, or other operational needs.
Required Skills
- Fluent English communication is mandatory, as the role requires frequent coordination with overseas suppliers, internal teams, and management.
- Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage, particularly for dealing with suppliers from China, Taiwan, or other Mandarin-speaking regions.
- Strong negotiation and cost analysis skills.
- Good organizational and follow-up abilities.
- Attention to detail, especially in pricing, contracts, and invoices.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate across departments.
