Summary
HonoBono Kissa, part of Chontea & Co., brings the nostalgic charm of the Japanese kissaten to Jimbaran. By day it's a relaxed café built around Hotto Keki, Napolitan pasta and manually brewed coffee; by night it becomes an intimate lounge with classic cocktails, premium whiskey and fine wine, set to jazz and vinyl records. It's a place built around slowing down, listening, sipping and savouring.
Job Description
- Provide professional wine recommendations based on guest preferences, food choices and occasion
- Present and serve wine to HonoBono's standards, including presentation, opening, decanting and glassware selection
- Assist in developing and maintaining HonoBono's wine selection, including pairing recommendations for guests
- Maintain accurate knowledge of the current wine list, including availability, pricing and tasting profiles
- Maintain proper wine storage and organisation, monitor inventory, and assist with stock counts and purchasing recommendations
- Liaise with suppliers and management on wine availability and product information when required
- Support wine training for the wider service team and assist with wine-related events, tastings and special dining experiences
- Monitor wine quality and report any damaged, oxidised or compromised bottles
Requirements
- WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, minimum; WSET Level 3 or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in wine service at a restaurant, hotel, lounge or wine-focused establishment
- Strong knowledge of international wine regions, grape varieties and wine styles
- Able to explain wine characteristics in an approachable, easy-to-understand way
- Strong attention to detail, professional presentation and good English communication skills
