Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

Job Overview

As a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of web and mobile applications before they are released to users. You will plan, execute, and document various testing activities, validate system integrations, analyze product requirements, and collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, Designers, and QA team members to deliver high-quality software in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities (Job Description)

1. Develop test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements and user stories.
2. Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) support.
3. Validate web and mobile application features before production releases.
4. Conduct API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
5. Verify application data using SQL or NoSQL databases.
6. Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools.
7. Analyze user stories, acceptance criteria, and business workflows to ensure complete test coverage.
8. Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Designers, and QA team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
9. Perform integration testing with internal systems and third-party services.
10. Support release validation and post-release verification activities.
11. Continuously improve QA processes, documentation, and testing standards.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience as a QA Manual or Software QA Engineer.
3. Experience performing functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, and integration testing.
4. Experience with API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
5. Good understanding of JSON, HTTP/HTTPS, and request-response architecture.
6. Basic knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases for data validation.
7. Able to create structured test scenarios and test cases using techniques such as Boundary Value Analysis (BVA), Equivalence Partitioning (EP), Error Guessing, and Decision Table Testing.
8. Experience testing integrations with internal systems and third-party services.
9. Able to analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
10. Familiar with Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
11. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
