Job description for Software Engineer at Tera Achiever
What you'll do as a Software Engineer at HERA :
- Develop and maintain HERA's AI-powered customer service platform end to end: a Next.js (React + TypeScript) web app and a Python (FastAPI) backend.
- Build AI/LLM features that automate customer service work, such as automated QA scoring of calls and chats, conversation analytics, and insight summaries.
- Integrate external platforms via REST APIs and webhooks: WhatsApp and omnichannel/CRM chat platforms, payment gateways, email, Google Sheets, and speech-to-text services.
- Design PostgreSQL schemas and migrations, tune slow queries, and maintain background jobs (Celery + Redis) for data processing and scheduled reports.
- Build data-heavy dashboards and reports (charts, PDF/Excel exports) that clients use to track service quality.
- Troubleshoot production issues, improve performance, and keep the platform secure (authentication, role-based access, multi-tenant data isolation).
- Keep code quality high through automated tests, code reviews, and CI/CD, from design and development through deployment and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Product, AI/Engineering, and other teams to turn business requirements into technical solutions.
- Contribute ideas to improve HERA's products and engineering processes.
Qualifications
Must have :
- 1–2 years of professional experience in software engineering / full-stack development.
- Solid Python for backend development; FastAPI preferred (Django/Flask is fine).
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript with hands-on React / Next.js experience.
- Good understanding of REST API design, database design, and system architecture.
- Experience with PostgreSQL: writing SQL beyond basic CRUD (joins, aggregations, indexes) and managing schema changes with migrations (e.g. SQLAlchemy + Alembic).
- Comfortable with Git and a pull-request workflow (branching, code review), plus basic Docker.
- Habit of writing automated tests (e.g. pytest, Jest/Vitest).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to understand business requirements.
Nice to have :
- Background jobs and task queues (Celery, Redis, scheduled jobs).
- Building features on LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.): prompt design, structured outputs, evaluating results, managing cost. Embeddings / vector search (pgvector) is a plus.
- Integrating third-party APIs and webhooks, especially WhatsApp, omnichannel/CRM platforms, or payment gateways.
- Tailwind CSS, TanStack React Query, and charting libraries (Recharts / ECharts).
- CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and monitoring (Prometheus / Grafana).
- Experience with speech-to-text / audio processing, or with B2B SaaS, customer service, or contact center products.
