PT. Samudera Drilling Services is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead well maintenance and workover rig operations. If you have a strong background in well intervention, well control, and rig leadership, and are passionate about operational excellence and HSE, we invite you to become part of our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
As our Site Manager, you will:
- Rig & Site Operations
- Lead day-to-day workover and well maintenance operations, including rig-up/down, rig moves, tripping, milling, cleanout, snubbing, fishing, re-completions, and well testing.
- Coordinate and supervise third-party service providers, including wireline, coiled tubing, cementing, mud engineering, logging, and wellhead services.
- Ensure all rig equipment, hoisting systems, BOPs, and well control equipment are properly maintained, certified, and operational.
Technical & Well Control Leadership
Act as the on-site technical authority for well control, wellhead pressure management, and downhole operations.
Review daily workover programs, wellbore schematics, and operational parameters while coordinating necessary adjustments with engineering teams.
Ensure strict compliance with API standards, company procedures, and well control requirements.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Promote and maintain a strong Zero Incident safety culture.
Lead toolbox talks, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HAZID sessions, and emergency drills.
Conduct incident investigations, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulation
Team & Operational Management
Supervise rig crews, shift handovers, and contractor performance.
Coordinate logistics, equipment mobilization, spare parts inventory, and material planning to minimize Non-Productive Time (NPT).
Prepare and review Daily Workover Reports (DWR), rig reports, operational summaries, and cost monitoring documentation.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
Extensive rig floor experience will also be considered.
Experience
Minimum 10 Years of experience in drilling, workover, or well intervention operations.
Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership role such as Site Manager, Toolpusher, Rig Superintendent, or equivalent.
Mandatory Certifications
IWCF Level 4 Supervisor or IADC WellSharp – Well Control Supervisor
Preferred Safety Certifications
BOSIET/HUET (Offshore)
H2S Awareness
First Aid / CPR
Risk Assessment / JSA Training
We are looking for professionals who possess:
Strong technical knowledge of workover rigs, well intervention, hydraulic workover units (HWU), downhole tools, and wellhead systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills in handling well control challenges, downhole abnormalities, mechanical failures, and pressure-related issues.
Proven leadership capability in managing multicultural field teams and coordinating with engineering and operations personnel.
Strong focus on operational efficiency, cost control, logistics optimization, and minimizing Non-Productive Time (NPT).
