About the Role:
The Site Manager – Public Building is responsible for overseeing daily on-site operations for public infrastructure or building projects, ensuring that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role coordinates with project teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution from start to completion.
Key Responsibilities / Job Description:
- Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities for public building projects.
- Ensure project execution aligns with drawings, specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Monitor work progress and prepare regular site reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and local authority requirements.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues, technical challenges, and delays.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets required standards.
- Manage site resources including manpower, materials, and equipment.
- Lead site meetings and communicate project updates to management.
- Ensure proper documentation and site administration are maintained.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in construction, with at least 2–3 years in a site management role.
- Experience handling public building or government projects is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good understanding of construction methods, project scheduling, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Willing to be placed at project sites and work with flexible hours when required.
