Mechanical site engineer job Desk:
1. Project Planning & Management
Develop and implement mechanical project plans.
Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering teams.
Ensure timely delivery of mechanical engineering services.
2. Supervision of Installation & Maintenance
Oversee mechanical systems installation, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), plumbing, and firefighting systems.
Inspect installations to ensure they meet design specifications and safety regulations.
Monitor ongoing maintenance work to ensure functionality and longevity of systems.
3. Site Inspections & Safety
Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress and ensure quality standards.
Ensure all activities are compliant with health and safety regulations.
Implement safety protocols for mechanical systems to avoid accidents or hazards.
4. Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues that arise during construction.
Develop solutions for design challenges or unexpected problems on site.
5. Quality Control
Check materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure quality and durability.
Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure standards are met.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare reports and documentation for project progress and mechanical system performance.
Keep records of tests, inspections, and any design changes.
7. Coordination with Contractors & Suppliers
Liaise with mechanical contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure that the correct materials and equipment are delivered on time.
Ensure that subcontractors adhere to the project's specifications and schedule.
Requirement:
1. Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is usually required.
Some roles may require a Master's Degree or specialization in areas such as HVAC, plumbing, or structural engineering.
Professional certifications (like Certified Mechanical Engineer or Chartered Engineer) may be preferred in some regions.
2. Experience
Typically, 2-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, construction, or related fields.
Site experience in managing installations, inspections, and troubleshooting is highly valued.
Experience with HVAC systems, plumbing, and fire safety systems can be important depending on the project.
3. Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software for creating and reading technical drawings.
