We handle 75,000 port calls per year, which means that every 7 minutes, anywhere around the world, we send a ship safely out to sea again to fulfil its purpose. We are looking for a Ships Agency Coordinator who has a passion for the maritime industry and can commit for at least 6 months of service.
The Ships Agency Coordinator will report to Ships Agency Manager - DA Center.
Required experience and skills:
- Diploma in Business Administration, Accountancy and Finance or similar discipline.
- Relevant working experience from the marine industry, preferably ships agency operations.
- Excellent communication skill.
- Able to work independently and systematically.
- Able to meet deadlines through good time management and allocation of priorities.
- Proactive attitude.
- Sales and customer oriented.
- Good team player and willingness to share.
- Possess advanced excel skills.
- Computer literate.
What you will be doing:
- Provide ships agency support and advice to customers, Customer Coordinators.
- Follow up complaints/non compliances through improvement/complaint system in place.
- Monitor the SASA global bank.
- Ensure all cash transactions are allocated accordingly in Virtual Agent.
- Inform global agents and local agents for the fund received and payment status.
- Provide Statement of Account to global agents upon request.
- Assist with monthly financial closing activities.
- Prepare journal entries into accounting system.
- Regular update of local agents’ bank details in Danske and cashbook.
- Responsible for obtaining banking reports from the on-line banking system.
- Set-up of vendors / suppliers for the electronic funds transfers process for payment of disbursement accounts / invoices.
- Perform daily OFAC checking.
- Answer enquiries made by global agents, local agents and banker.
- Follow up complaints/non compliances through improvement/complaint system in place.
