We are looking for a warm, patient, and communicative individual to join our team as a full-time Shadow Teacher at our inclusive international school. A Shadow Teacher provides one-on-one support to students with special needs, helping them stay engaged, follow instructions, and thrive alongside their peers. As some assigned students may communicate primarily in Mandarin, strong conversational Mandarin skills are essential for this role.
Requirements
- Minimum of less than 1 year of relevant experience, OR fresh graduate (D3/S1) with a strong understanding of or interest in special needs education
- Preferred majors: Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or related fields; candidates from other majors are also welcome to apply if they have a strong understanding of or interest in working with children with special needs
- Fluent in conversational Mandarin (spoken) — required, as the assigned student may communicate primarily in Mandarin
- Warm, patient, and genuinely enjoys building connection with children
- Open-minded and comfortable working with children of diverse learning needs and abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with teachers, therapists, and parents
- Willing to continuously learn and adapt supporting style to each child's individual needs
- A heart for inclusive education and helping every child feel seen and supported
- Basic understanding of child development is a plus, though not required for candidates with strong interest and willingness to learn
- Willing to be placed at Muara Karang or PIK 2

Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with parents, psychologists, and other teachers to achieve the student's learning goals
- Work closely with teachers to follow and support the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Help the student focus, stay engaged, and understand learning material (projects, tests, and assignments)
- Develop and apply appropriate behavior management strategies
- Encourage active and positive interaction between the student and their peers
- Monitor and support interaction between students in the classroom
- Review and report on the student's developmental progress
- Assist the student in following classroom instructions, routines, and daily activities
- Communicate regularly with the classroom teacher and relevant professionals regarding the student's progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of the student's daily development
