Xendit is an Indonesian fintech company that provides payment infrastructure across Indonesia. Xendit processes payments, runs marketplaces, disburses payroll and loans, detects fraud and helps other businesses grow exponentially. We serve these companies by providing a suite of world-class APIs and a dashboard UI that simplifies processes.
Our main focus is to build the most advanced payment rails for South-east Asia, with a clear goal in mind — to make payments in South-east Asia simple, secure and easy for everyone. We currently serve SMEs to some of the region’s largest tech startups and also giant-sized businesses like Samsung. We process millions of transactions monthly, growing 8% month on month for the last 3 years. We are trusted and backed by some of the largest VCs in the world, who invested in Facebook, Slack, Twitch and Grab, and are alumni of the prestigious YCombinator (S15).
P2P Ecrow
P2P escrow platform team is a new team under Xendit group that focuses on building payment platforms for P2P merchants to comply with Indonesia regulations (OJK). Beside regulations, our product focuses on building payment platforms by giving fast and reliable multiple payment channels and providing money transfer capabilities. Currently our team give around 15% TPV from total TPV in Xendit which is quite huge for a new product/vertical. In this team we always challenged by:
Reliability - we are expected by customer to ship the most reliable product where it should has close to 0 issues
Payment channels - to expand our product and delight our customer by providing more channels to accept payment
Compliance - every built that we do, we need to make sure everything aligned with what regulators expected
Thousands customers - as the nature of P2P, it has multiples end-customer (up to thousands) that we need to handle
Scalability - in order to handle millions transactions monthly, our team challenged to build system that scalable.
Mission
Build fast, reliable, secure and regulation comply platform for P2P merchants in Indonesia
The P2P Escrow Platform product is expected to build exciting products for P2P merchants by providing various unique and customized features for the P2P industry. Currently, the focus is on integrating and enabling new payment channels, standardizing our APIs to be simpler and robust. There will be countless opportunities for software engineers to build the best P2P merchant platform in Indonesia.
There are several challenges that adds to the excitement. One of them is that we are expected to comply with financial regulations in Indonesia (OJK), placing us in a great position to understand and deliver requirements between stakeholders such as P2P merchants and the regulation bodies.
Another main technical challenge is to increase the speed, reliability, scalability and security of our product using various efficient testing and monitoring tools to improve code, reduce tech debt and design scalable solutions to serve all P2P merchants in Indonesia.
Responsibilities
Understand customer needs and requirements, prioritise build based on customer impact.
Build team technical roadmap, execute and deliver on time.
Produce and make sure team delivery has high quality and comply with regulations.
Responsible to continuously improve escrow product scalability, reliability and security.
Leverage team engineering skill by knowledge sharing and actively improve your own knowledge to follow best practices.
Able to consistently give structured feedback and direction to peers and accept any feedback for the sake of growth.
Do whatever it takes to make Xendit group succeed.

Successful track record of developing quality software products and shipping production-ready software in a fast growing environment.
Successful track record of architecting, writing technical specifications, making sure the product meets the company standards, and delivered on time.
Strong expertise on JavaScript and familiarity with TypeScript and GoLang.
Strong knowledge of REST and pub/sub design patterns.
Experience with relational and NoSQL database schema design and query optimization.
Experience with unit, integration, and E2E test frameworks such as jest, mocha, supertest, and cucumber.
Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Sentry, and Splunk.
Strong desire to independently learn engineering skills and share it with other software engineers.
