Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using PHP / Laravel.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Own end-to-end feature development, from design and implementation to optimization.
• Improve system performance through query optimization, caching, and refactoring.
• Design efficient data flows for high-volume transactional systems.
• Identify technical debt and propose pragmatic improvements.
• Design and maintain robust database schemas and data relationships.
• Build and maintain API integrations (payment gateways, messaging services, internal systems).
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and auditability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with minimal downtime.
• Implement safe deployment practices and backward-compatible changes.
• Apply practical testing strategies where they add real value.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps and IT Security on infrastructure and deployment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other developers when needed.
• Participate in technical reviews and decision-making processes.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Backend Engineer.
• Solid understanding of:
o Software design principles
o Database performance and indexing
o RESTful API design
• Hands-on experience with MySQL / MariaDB.
• Able to work with complex, legacy, and high-risk systems.
• Comfortable owning and supporting production systems.
• Familiar with Linux environments, Git workflows, and CI/CD concepts.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure is a plus.
• Experience in mentoring or code reviews is a plus.
