Senior Merchandiser – Regional Buying

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Merchandiser – Regional Buying to lead end-to-end buying and merchandising activities across Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam, with a primary focus on Indonesia. The position will be part of a Moo Group subsidiary based in Hong Kong, providing regional exposure and opportunities to work closely with Senior Management, regional teams, and international suppliers. This role will have a strong focus on China market sourcing and product development, including regular business trips to China for product sourcing, product selection, supplier meetings, and purchasing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end buying and merchandising activities across Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
- Conduct product, market, competitor, and trend research to identify new product opportunities.
- Analyze sales, inventory, pricing, and product performance data to support buying and assortment decisions.
- Manage product sourcing, costing, purchasing, supplier negotiation, and follow-up, particularly with China-based suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with China-based suppliers and business partners.
- Work closely with Senior Management and regional teams to align product assortment and buying strategies with business objectives.
- Accompany Management on quarterly business trips to China for product sourcing, product selection, supplier meetings, and purchasing.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Merchandising, Buying, Product Sourcing, or Category Management.
- Experience in retail, fashion, lifestyle, eyewear, or consumer products is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in end-to-end buying/sourcing, including product selection, supplier sourcing, negotiation, purchasing, and product evaluation.
- Fluent in Mandarin and proficient in English for business communication.
- Experience working with China-based suppliers or sourcing from the China market is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and data-driven skills, with the ability to translate sales, inventory, pricing, and product performance data into buying decisions.
- Strong commercial sense and product instinct, with the ability to identify products with strong market potential and customer appeal.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid arrangement and travel overseas regularly, particularly to China.
